Services We Provide
The thing about helping a new start-up business is to recognize that new entrepreneurs face a lot of costs, and so legal services have to be affordable and the new owner has to see the immediate benefit of the services. Having done this work for a while, I can introduce new business owners to other business owners and resources that can make an immediate difference.
Duluth has always had a rich tradition of charitable work by non-profit organizations. Most residents volunteer or agree to serve as volunteer directors of nonprofit boards. I have set up hundreds of non-profit organizations that provide traditional charitable services as well as those that fill the expanded role of partnering with the government and business.
We have personal experience and intimate knowledge of the questions families face when a loved one is diagnosed with dementia. We can go over these questions and other questions while there is still time to plan an appropriate strategy for dealing with care and financial issues.
It is estimated that less that half of families have an estate plan. Estate plans do not have to be complicated or expensive, Gilbert Law Office can simplify this process, and in a cost-effective way. When working with us, people are generally surprised how easy and affordable it is to do an estate plan.
When people hear the word “probate” it is usually in the context of a legal proceeding that should be avoided at all cost. In fact, some people are advised to spend enormous amounts of money to develop complex estate plans just to avoid probate. In most cases, this is not necessary. The laws have changed so families that have had a bad experience with probate in the past, may find a simpler more efficient process today.
If you’re struggling financially, bankruptcy may seem like the most direct way to solve the problem. We can assess your situation to help determine WHEN, IF and HOW you should file for bankruptcy. We’ll give you guidance on your assets and represent you at the meeting of the creditors.
